Terms of Service

1. Service Description

ScanLink is a QR code generation and analytics platform. We provide tools to create QR codes, track scan activity, and manage dynamic URLs. The service is available in a free tier (3 QR codes, basic scan counts) and a Pro tier ($9/month, unlimited QR codes, full analytics, dynamic URLs).

2. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ScanLink for:

• Any illegal or fraudulent activity
• Distributing malware or phishing links
• Spamming or misleading users
• Linking to content that violates applicable laws
• Attempting to reverse-engineer or disrupt the service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Payments and Billing

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at $9/month. Payments are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record, who handles all billing, tax, and VAT compliance on our behalf. You can cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the free tier.

5. Refunds

Since Creem acts as the Merchant of Record, refund requests are handled through their process. If you are unsatisfied with the service, contact us and we will work with you to resolve the issue or facilitate a refund.

6. QR Codes and Data

You retain ownership of the URLs and content you link through ScanLink. We do not claim ownership of your data. QR codes generated through ScanLink redirect through our servers to enable analytics tracking. If you downgrade or delete your account, your QR codes will stop redirecting.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any losses caused by temporary service interruptions or downtime.

8. Limitation of Liability

ScanLink is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.
